The program is a great way to see the industry first hand through its professionals and work environments. The program emphasizes the inner workings and logistics of the film industry in Mumbai and incorporates meetings with film professionals, visits to film shoots, post production studios and a hands-on student project.
Healthcare in India
BEYOND BORDERS offers an in-depth Healthcare program for nursing, medical and pre-medical students to work in both an urban and rural set up within India. This program gives students an overview into India's complex healthcare systems and their delivery even in the remotest areas of the country. Students work one on one with hospitals, mobile vans, specialists and local doctors in the areas of general medicine/gynecology/oncology/cardiology, public health, rural medicine and HIV/AIDS.
Rural and Public Health Rotation
BEYOND BORDERS offers an in-depth Rural and Public Health rotation for medical and pre-medical students to work with local doctors on mobile vans, hospitals, clinics and Aids/HIV interventions. This program gives students a chance to learn about health problems faced by rural communities. Students work one on one with local doctors in the areas of public health, rural medicine and HIV/AIDS.
An intense clinical rotation in Mumbai that gives you an in-depth understanding of healthcare in India's financial capital. Students work with local doctors and specialists in surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, oncology and internal medicine. Students can also work in the area of AIDS/HIV. The program gives students a chance to learn about health problems faced by communities in an urban setup. Students participate in outpatient clinics, ward rounds and observe surgeries and other medical procedures.
Introduction to Traditional Medicine
This program is offered to students with an interest in traditional and alternative medicine. The program explores ancient Indian methods for healing and maintaining good health. These include yoga, meditation, "drugless" treatments through alteration of diet and lifestyle incorporating mind and body systems. The philosophy of most of these systems is based on healing the entire body and mind through yoga, meditation, simple natural treatments and a controlled vegetarian diet.
An exciting opportunity for students and practitioners of business, economics, social science and commerce to Intern with Microfinance Institutions based in the populated and vibrant city of Mumbai. This internship program and its placement provide you with an opportunity to understand the inner workings of such institutions with a focus on achieving financial inclusion for the otherwise "non-bankable" urban poor in India.
Rural Life is a unique program to experience rural India where at least 70% of India resides – hands-on! This program is a great and fun way to observe the affairs of Indian villages and to understand village-based life. This program has been specifically designed to give participants an immersive grassroots level experience of rural India, learn about the aspirations and dreams of India's village communities, experience the opportunities and challenges faced by them, and of various initiatives in sustainable development.
Service Learning in the Himalayas
The Service Learning in the Himalayas Program is an opportunity to participate in and witness social change first-hand! Visit and work with NGOs and social organizations in rural India. 70% of India lives in its villages and this program is your chance to understand the development challenges faced by India.
Teach in the Himalayas SPEED Program
This is your chance to get hands-on experience in the shortest possible time. Work directly with kids in schools and orphanages, teaching them English, Math, Science, Art, Craft, Music or Social Sciences, designing teaching aids and working with teachers to introduce new learning techniques to them. India faces a number of challenges that have resulted in a low literacy rate and this program allows you to make a difference in some major problem areas.
Urban and Rural Health Rotations
This program is a combination of our Clinical Rotation in New Delhi and Rural & Public Health Rotation in villages on the outskirts of Delhi. This program is a complete experience of India’s urban and rural healthcare system. Get a complete taste of India and its complex social, cultural and particularly medical system through this unique program.
Healthcare in the Himalayas
In this program you get an opportunity to work in local government as well as charitable hospitals and small private clinics in rural areas, and accompany mobile health vans to interior villages. You can also attend OPDs of specialist departments and observe surgeries in hospitals.
